$200,000 Fine Proposed Against Turner Broadcast System by FCC

The Federal Communications Commission has proposed a fine against Turner Broadcasting System for the second time in less than three months. The $200,000 proposed fine is for transmitting advertisements that imitate the national public warning system used by the President of the United States to address the public during a national emergency. The warning system is also used to deliver important emergency information from federal, state and local authorities.
