Laird, a global technology company, has been awarded Platinum Level Supplier Quality Excellence Certification, the highest level of certification from Caterpillar Inc.
Caterpillar’s Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) recognizes suppliers’ overall quality system performance including excellent process control, commitment to on-going process improvement and delivery of quality products. Laird’s Telematics teams across the world have focused on creating a collaborative relationship with Caterpillar to deliver innovative product designs with superior service and delivery.
“Our teams in Holly, Michigan and Shanghai, China work closely with Caterpillar to ensure we exceed Caterpillar’s stringent quality requirements,” said Steve Brown, senior vice president and general manager at Laird. “We know the value of strong partnerships with our customers and Laird is always striving to deliver exceptional customer support.”
Of the several thousand suppliers to Caterpillar, only a small number are able to achieve the highest level of SQEP certification. Laird had earned Bronze Level certification from Caterpillar in 2011 and 2012. The improvement to Platinum demonstrates Laird’s commitment to continuous improvement.
“Reliable fulfillment is a primary focus of Laird and absolutely key to our ability to attract and retain blue-chip customers like Caterpillar,” said Randy Andreen, vice president of sales for Laird. “We are constantly working to improve not only our shipping performance, but everything that goes into reliable fulfillment including quality, our global supply chain and our overall operations. We are extremely pleased and honored to be recognized for our performance by Caterpillar Inc.”
