Global technology leader Laird announces it has been certified by Caterpillar Inc. as a platinum supplier through the company’s Supplier Quality Excellence Process for the second straight year.
The platinum level recertification was earned by Laird’s Telematics team in April of 2015. Caterpillar created the Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) to recognize those suppliers that demonstrate their commitment to excellence, and drive a “zero defects” culture within their organizations.
Laird’s Telematics team members across the world are focused on creating a collaborative relationship with Caterpillar to deliver innovative product designs with superior service and reliable delivery.

Certification levels include Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, reflected in order of increasing difficulty. Suppliers are certified through SQEP by meeting or exceeding stringent supplier performance standards, such as product quality and shipping performance, which are measured over the course of a year. Earning the Platinum certification for a second straight year demonstrates Laird’s commitment to maintaining a strong, reliable relationship.
