Engineering students are invited to apply for Altair’s 14th annual FEKO Student Competition. Winners of the competition will receive international recognition and prizes that include a laptop computer or a ticket to attend on of the Altair ATC or ATCx events that are hosted around the world each year.
The winner of last year’s student competition, Ting-Yen Shih, successfully developed a method using the characteristic mode configuration in FEKO to systematically and efficiently approach the bandwidth limitation of a platform mode. This resulted in him achieving bandwidths that stand-alone antennas were not able to attain.
Eligible students will work on a supervised project in electromagnetic engineering and make use of FEKO, Altair’s HyperWorks solution for electromagnetic simulation. Students can visit Altair online to download a free Student Edition of the software and to register to participate in the competition.
