Closer to home (or at least closer to us here in Littleton, MA!), the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued Notices of Unlicensed Operation to two men in connection with unlicensed radio transmissions in Worcester, MA.
Issued in early April, the two separate Notices were in response to reports of interference with the Federal Aviation Administration’s air traffic control radio communications at Logan International Airport in Boston. An investigation in February by an agent from the Boston office of the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau determined unlicensed transmissions on the frequency 103.5 MHz that exceeded the maximum permitted level of 250 µV/m at 3 meters were emanating from a commercial property located in Worcester. The agent also confirmed the identity of the two men named in the two separate FCC’s Notices.
The Notices instruct the named parties to immediately provide the Enforcement Bureau with any evidence that their transmission activities are authorized under FCC rules.
