China Tests 6G Wireless Communications

While the U.S. is moving ahead with the deployment of 5G technologies, China has reportedly already begun testing on the next generation of wireless communications technologies.

According to an article posted in late November to the website site of The Science Times, scientists and researchers in China have now launched the first-ever 6G communications test satellite from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi. The test was intended to evaluate how such technology would perform in space.

Wireless communications technologies operating at 6Gs is expected to be over 100 times faster than 5G-based communications, supporting more secure and longer distance communications with reduced power output. However, most experts agree that the technology is still in the earliest development stages and will require years of additional research and development before becoming commercially viable.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part One

Solving Maxwell’s Equations for real-life situations, like predicting the RF emissions from a cell tower, requires more mathematical horsepower than any individual mind can muster. These equations don’t give the scientist or engineer just insight, they are literally the answer to everything RF.
