A new wireless technology is being developed that makes better use of the wireless spectrum and uses a different approach than current wireless technology. This new technology, pCell, uses signal interference where signals overlap and create small personal mobile internet cells.

A researcher from the University of Southampton and a team of professors from the University of Western Australia has developed a network of wireless sensors that will revolutionize soil salinity testing. The newly designed sensors are able to perform non-destructive testing of soil samples.

A team of researchers from UC Riverside and the Russian Academy for Science worked together to develop a holographic memory device that utilizes spin waves – magnetic waves produced by an alternating magnetic field – to increase storage and processing capacity.

Chrysler has issued two voluntary recalls for three of its models from two unrelated problems. The Grand Cherokee/Durango recall will address a “pedal fee” issue on the brakes and the Fiat recall is for a glitch in the car’s transmission software. There have been no accidents or injuries reported from these two issues.
