York EMC Services celebrates official opening of accredited Laboratory in Scotland

York EMC Services (YES) unveiled its brand new compliance laboratory in Grangemouth, Scotland during an official opening ceremony on March 6th.

YES Directors and staff joined a host of invited guests in welcoming Michael Connarty, MP for Linlithgow and East Falkirk who cut the ribbon and officially opened the new facility. He said; “York EMC Services is a perfect example of technology transfer of scientific research out of university into an economic enterprise.  The services provided by their testing laboratories for manufacturers of electrical and electronic technologies are both fascinating and essential for the safety of modern equipment. I welcome York EMC Services’ decision to re-locate their Scottish facilities to Grangemouth.  It is a perfect fit for a dynamic town in a perfect transport hub and wish them well for the future.”

The new purpose built laboratory offers an extensive range of compliance testing and training services to manufacturing industry in Scotland and the north of England, enabling them to develop and manufacture electrical and electronic products that are safe and legal for sale in the European Union and Global Markets.

The official opening was also attended by representatives from ETS Lindgren who supplied the laboratory’s anechoic chamber and screened rooms and Alan Dick from Scottish Enterprise who provided grant assistance.
