Würth Elektronik ICS is introducing a new family of DC/DC converters designed for mobile machinery and commercial vehicles, expanding its portfolio of onboard power distribution solutions as modern vehicle platforms juggle multiple voltage levels and growing electronic loads. The encapsulated modules meet IP67 protection and are built to withstand vibration and temperatures up to 85°C, maintaining stable output voltage under dynamic loads while integrating overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuit, and temperature protection. Standard modules are 24/12V buck converters for switch mode operation, with input voltage ranging from 16 or 18V to 32V DC and nominal output currents of 2, 25, or 40 A; boost and flyback variants can be added as needed, and the 2 A version is designed for direct PCB mounting while the higher current versions are standalone modules. The company also offers customized DC/DC converters for application-specific needs. “Every machine is different, and every application has its own requirements for the onboard power system,” said Daniel Wilder, Product Manager for DC/DC converters at Würth Elektronik ICS.
