Würth Elektronik eiSos sS Signs Contract for Purchase of Stelvio Kontek SpA

On May 21, 2014, the Würth Elektronik eiSos Group  signed a contract for the purchase of the Italian connector manufacturer Stelvio Kontek SpA with its headquarters in Oggiono. The prime reason why the owners of Stelvio Kontek have decided to sell the company is the security that the business succession will bring for the employees and the company as a whole.

By buying up the company, Würth Elektronik eiSos wishes to further extend its global activities in the connector business sector. The company has business operations in 50 countries worldwide with 13 production sites spread over all important global markets. “With the acquisition of Stelvio Kontek SpA, we’re welcoming a highly specialized company for electromechanical components and connectors into the fold of the Würth Elektronik eiSos Group, at the same time making a substantial addition to our production capacities and to our product portfolio in the connector sector,” said Oliver Konz and Thomas Schrott, CEOs of Würth Elektronik eiSos.

The product portfolio of Stelvio Kontek includes standard and customer specific components in the areas of terminal block connectors, wire-to board connectors, I/O connectors, flexible flat-ribbon cables, fuse holders, and Reed sensors.
