Wires Crossed in Turn Signals for Travel Trailers

turn signalsA worker on Jayco’s production line accidentally crossed the turn signal wires on certain model year 2016 Octane travel trailers, model 222(V2). As a result, when the driver activates the turn signal, the opposite blinker will light, indicating the wrong direction that the car is going to turn. This could confuse drivers and cause a crash. Furthermore, the vehicles fail to comply with federal safety standards.

These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment.”

Consequently, Jayco is recalling 43 travel trailers. Dealers will inspect and repair the wiring as necessary, free of charge.
