|

repair-whr-microwaveWhirlpool is recalling their own brand microwave hood combinations. Arcing can ignite an internal plastic component, posing a fire hazard.

About 15,200 microwaves are involved in the recall. They were sold at Best Buy, HH Gregg, Lowes, Sears and other home improvement, home appliance and retail stores and by homebuilders nationwide from January 2014 through April 2016 for between $370 and $470.

Incidents reported include a home fire, and fires involving nearby cabinets.

Consumers should stop using the microwaves and contact Whirlpool for a free replacement.
