VARTA Microbattery announced that House of Batteries will stock and distribute VARTA EasyPack battery packs. Varta EasyPack battery packs are the most recent addition to the companies’ comprehensive distribution agreement.
Developed to address the needs of OEMs/ODMs to speed time-to-market while minimizing design-in costs, VARTA EasyPacks provide the ultimate rechargeable, off-the-shelf solution to powering portable devices. Offered in three sizes, the battery packs are comprised of UL1642 approved 3.7 V lithium polymer (LiPO) cells, with rated capacities of from 595 mAh to 2260 mAh. VARTA EasyPacks are supplied with a choice of charging options and standard mating connectors. A comprehensive evaluation kit is available for design support. The modules feature CE marking, comply with the EU’s 2006/66/EC Battery Directive and are IATA-certified.
Engineered for employment in an array of portable devices, the LiPO battery packs are commonly specified for use in medical, dental and pharmaceutical applications in which a rechargeable power supply is indicated. They are equally applicable in small computers and as a back-up power source.
VARTA EasyPacks are shipped standard with gold-plated contacts, and in small-, large- and extra-large sizes to facilitate the utmost in design flexibility. The small modules’ dimensions are 6.0 mm (H) x 35.6 mm (W) x 43.7 mm (L), and weigh 14 g; large packs measure 6.6 mm (H) x 36.8 mm (W) x 64.7 mm (L), and weigh 28 g; extra large packs measure 11.6 mm (H) x 36.8 mm (W) x 64.7 mm (L), and weigh 48 g. Typical capacities are 595 mAh, 1130 mAh, and 2260 mAh respectively. To additionally optimize design flexibility, the EasyPack modules may be connected to the PC board on either the bottom, or the header side of the pack.
