Varaluz Recalls Longfellow Light Fixtures for Fire Hazard

Varaluz Longfellow RecallImproper wiring in certain Longfellow lighting fixtures can allow melting of the insulation that causes the fixtures to short out, posing fire and shock hazards. The firm has received two reports of lights bulbs shorting. No injuries have been reported. As a result, 80 Longfellow model 3- and 4-light light fixtures for indoor or outdoor use are being recalled.

The lights were manufactured in the Philippines and sold at lighting showrooms nationwide and online through lighting and home improvement websites from April 2013 to September 2015 for between $320 and $420. The black metal fixtures have a clear/frosted glass shade on four sides and can be wall mounted or ceiling mounted. See the CPSC notice for a list of model numbers.

Consumers should immediately stop using the fixtures and contact Varaluz for a replacement or a refund.
