Six phone booths on London’s Tottenham Court Road were converted to solar-powered charging stations for mobile phones earlier this week. The red booths were painted green, and a roof-mounted solar panel was attached to the top.
The booths include a variety of charging cords for different phone models, and can charge up to 100 phones per day. Visitors can use the charging stations at no cost but will see advertisements on a display inside the booth.
