Ultraviolet Sanitation Pool Systems Recalled Due to Electrical Arcing

Paramount Pool and Spa Systems has recalled over 950 Trident Series 2 (UV II) ultraviolet sanitation systems due to a fire hazard. There is a potential for electrical arcing and the units could catch fire.

The systems are used to pump pool water through the unit and sanitize it by ultraviolet lamps. They are gray tubes and are 32 inches high and 11 inches in diameter. The units are plumbed into the circulation pipes and are either plugged in or hard-wired into the electrical system. Consumers with recalled sanitation systems should be disconnected from a power source to eliminate the potential for arcing. The company will be replacing the recalled units with a replacement unit for no charge.

Check to see if your ultraviolent sanitation pool system is included in the recall.
