U.S. Department of Defense Announces Awards for Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has announced the 2019 recipients of the Agency’s James S. Cogswell Award for achievement in the area of industrial security.

Named after Air Force Colonel James S. Cogswell who served as the first chief of industrial security within the DoD, the Cogswell Awards recognizes those companies whose practices exemplify industrial security excellence. Factors used in selecting award recipients include maintaining industrial security programs that exceed National Industrial Security Program requirements and exemplifying best practices in industrial security.

The 2019 Cogswell Award winners include 51 facilities out of approximately 13,000 cleared facilities in the U.S.

Mastering High Voltage: The Importance of Accurate Test Equipment

This whitepaper underscores that precise calibration of high-voltage test gear — especially when measuring 1 kV–150 kV systems — is essential for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. It details measurement techniques (voltage dividers, step-down transformers, etc.), the impact of environmental and connection factors on accuracy, and why traceable calibration (e.g. to NIST / A2LA) is a must to ensure consistent, reliable results.
