At LIGHTFAIR® International 2014, TÜV Rheinland will present its comprehensive portfolio of testing and certification services to the lighting industry. The company tests and certifies all types of lighting products, with a special focus on LEDs, according to the U.S., Canada and global requirements. Six US laboratories are conveniently located from the East to West coasts for a fast turn-around and reduced shipping costs.
TÜV Rheinland is approved by the OSHA as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and by the Standards Council of Canada as a testing and certification organization. The company’s cTUVus mark is officially recognized as an equivalent of the UL, CSA and ETL marks. TÜV Rheinland also holds accreditations from A2LA, IECEE and ENERGY STAR.
As a 142-year-old testing and certification organization, TÜV Rheinland has the technical background and expertise to test lighting products to a variety of requirements: product safety – NRTL, CB Scheme and CE Mark; Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) – FCC, ICES and CE Mark; performance, including photometry testing to LM-79 and LM-80; ENERGY STAR®, DesignLights Consortium® and LED Lighting Facts® programs; as well as RoHS and REACH directives.
The extensive range of standards the company tests to includes UL 1598, UL 153, UL 2108, UL 1993, UL 8750, IEC/EN 60598 series, IEC/EN 61347 series and IEC/EN 62031 for product safety and FCC 47 Part 15B and Part 18, EN 55015, EN 61547, EN 55022 and EN 55024 for EMC.
In addition to its US facilities, the company operates four laboratories in the European Union (EU) and six in Asia, extending its testing capabilities for lighting products to international clients at or near their target markets. TÜV Rheinland offers CE Mark and CB Scheme services and was named the top certificate issuing body in the CB Scheme for the eighth consecutive year in 2013.
