TÜV Rheinland has announced the launch of new services to test and certify all types of lighting products, including LED, according to the U.S., Canada and global requirements – from product safety and international approvals to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). A network of new laboratories will be open in locations from West to East coast.
Launched in response to a growing demand, the new labs will evaluate lighting products for a broad range of applications, including commercial, consumer and residential lighting. The products will also include LED equipment for use in luminaires, portable luminaires, self-ballasted lamps, low-voltage lighting systems, low-voltage landscape lighting, LED drivers, and dimmers/controllers. The extensive range of standards includes UL 1598, UL 153, UL 2108, UL 1993, UL 8750, IEC/EN 60598, IEC/EN 61347 and IEC/EN 62031 for product safety and FCC 47 Part 15B and Part 18, EN 55015, EN 55022 and EN 55024 for EMC.
The labs will be conveniently located on both coasts to offer a fast turn-around time and reduced shipping costs to the U.S. manufacturers. Drawing on the worldwide network of its lighting laboratories, TÜV Rheinland also offers extensive testing capabilities to international clients. The company’s technical experts have many years of experience in national and international product safety testing standards, EMC and performance requirements and provide support to clients at all stages of product life cycle.
