Toyota Recalls More Vehicles Over Airbag Problem

Toyota Motor Co. has recalled 885,000 vehicles worldwide over electrical problems that could prevent airbags from deploying in a crash. Within the last month, they have recalled almost 1.5 million other vehicles due to a variety of additional programs.

The latest recall was issued due to a potential short circuit that could cause airbag warning lights to turn on and possibly disable the airbags themselves, so they may not deploy in an accident. Toyota stated the problem is due to a water leak from the air conditioning condenser unit onto the airbag control module. The recall covers 2012 and 2013 Camry sedans and hybrids, Avalon sedans and hybrids and the Venza crossover.
