Topaz Makes History as the Largest Solar Plant Operating in the World | In Compliance Magazine

The final 40 megawatt phase was recently completed at the Topaz solar plant making it the first 500-megawatt plus solar farm in the United States. The 550 megawatt plant located in San Luis Obispo County, California, also became the world’s largest solar plant to come on-line in the world. The Topaz plant consists of 9 million solar panels installed across 9.5 square miles and will be able to provide ample power for 160,000 average homes in California.
