TIA Applauds Bipartisan Medicare Act; Says Expanding Telehealth Coverage will Improve Care

Telehealth demonstration

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, applauded Representatives Mike Thompson (D-CA)  and Gregg Harper (R-MS) for their bipartisan introduction of the Medicare Telehealth Parity Act of 2014.

TIA congratulates Representatives Thompson and Harper on their leadership in working to modernize America’s health care system. By expanding Medicare coverage of telehealth services, including the use of store-and-forward technologies and remote patient monitoring for specific chronic conditions, the Medicare Telehealth Parity Act will improve the access to, and quality of, care for Medicare beneficiaries in both rural and urban areas.
