The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-168-C Telecommunications – Telephone Terminal Equipment – Labeling Requirements.

TIA-168-C specifies the labeling requirements for terminal equipment approved by a Telecommunications Certification Body or a Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity for connection to the telephone network in accordance with 47 CFR 68. The revision will add the details allowing devices with an integrated display screen to present the required label information electronically (e-label) in lieu of a physical label or nameplate.

TIA-168-C was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-41 Performance and Accessibility for Communications Products, TR-41.9 Technical and Administrative Regulatory Considerations subcommittee.
