Telcordia Releases Two Invitations for Participation – GR-3177-CORE, Issue 1 and GR-3171-CORE, Issue 2

Telcordia has released two invitations for participation in 2014.

GR-3177-CORE, Issue 1: Generic Requirements for Fiber to the Antenna (FTTA) Protection

Service providers are shifting high-frequency power amplifiers and power electronics from the base of mobile towers to remote radio heads. This will result in a significant increase in power efficiency as well as a reduction in power cable and size of the on-site footprint. These systems will require new protectors for the DC power and the possible use of coax protectors. GR-3177 will present generic requirements applicable to these devices.

Three Vibration/Balancing Solutions for the Aviation Industry

This paper provides a quick overview of aerospace engine testing solutions for engine vibration/balancing as well as signal conditioning technology from MTI instruments.

As a participating company in the Generic Requirements for Fiber to the Antenna (FTTA) Protection Technical Forum, you will have the opportunity to:

Provide input to the document that will directly affect the design of your products, or products that will be used in your deployment solution

Network with your industry colleagues and gain a better understanding of each participating company’s needs and requirements for FTTA protection.

Pursuant to provisions of the Telecommunication Act of 1996, related to the development of industry-wide generic requirements, Telcordia invites all interested parties to participate in this GR project. GR-3171-CORE, Issue 2: Generic Requirements for Network Elements Used in Wireless Networks Physical Layer Criteria

- From Our Sponsors -

GR-3171 was developed with industry input and participation focusing specifically on network equipment and installations that are used in wireless networks. GR-3171 is an umbrella document, and it references Telcordia GRs that have traditionally been used in the wire-line network as a foundation.

The Telcordia objective is to update GR-3171 to address the following issues:

Interaction between GR-3108 and other GRs, such as GR-487 and GR-950, when used to review wireless equipment

Update GR-3171 to cover Radio Access Networks (RANs), antenna and antenna systems, small cells, etc.

Include specific product test plans that list applicable GRs and modifications needed for wireless applications.

Pursuant to provisions of the Telecommunication Act of 1996, related to the development of industry-wide generic requirements, Telcordia invites all interested parties to participate in this GR project. If your company is interested in participating in this activity, please contact Ernie Gallo at Telcordia (ernest.gallo@ericsson.com; 732-699-3312).
