TDK offers easy online tool to find the right EPCOS snubber capacitor

TDK toolTDK Corporation has developed the EPCOS Snubber Ca Finder – an innovative online tool that simplifies and speeds the search for suitable EPCOS snubber capacitors to protect IGBT modules against voltage peaks.

With Snubber Cap Finder, a user simply enters the manufacturer’s IGBT code number in the search area, and the integrated database then locates the appropriate capacitors from over 1,000 IGBT modules of major suppliers.  Alternatively, a user can enter the voltage, capacity, capacitor type or terminal configuration.  The search is then supported with technical drawings of the selected terminal configuration, an overview of key technical data, and the link to corresponding data sheets.

EPCOS snubber capacitors are currently available in 17 different terminal configurations.  Capacitors in the series ranging from B32656S* to B32686S* are characterized by high pulse strength and reliability of the contacts.  In addition, the components offer extremely low ESL values.  The tin-plated copper straps have hole spacings ranging from 19.5 mm to 63 mm.  These snubber capacitors cover a range of voltages from 850 V DC to 2000 V DC and capacitances from 68 nF to 5.6 µF.  All are designed for temperatures up to +110 oC.
