TDK and LG Innotek Form Strategic Partnership in Physical AI

TDK Corporation and LG Innotek have entered a strategic partnership in the field of physical AI, formalized at a memorandum of understanding signing at LG Innotek’s headquarters in Seoul. The collaboration pairs LG Innotek’s optical and ultra-precision module design technologies with TDK’s broad sensor portfolio, including InvenSense inertial and position sensors and microphones, with the goal of integrating LG Innotek modules to serve as the “eyes” and “skin” of humanoid robots. TDK describes the effort as contributing to what it calls the “Body of AI.” The companies plan to jointly develop next-generation vision and tactile sensing modules, with a next-generation vision sensing module targeted to offer expanded functionality and significantly improved recognition performance compared to existing solutions. LG Innotek CEO Moon Hyuksoo said, “We will expand cooperation with TDK across multiple physical AI domains.”
