2013 WEEE Collection Rates Reaches 32% in the UK

Data released from the Environmental Agency reported a total of 125,183 tonnes of household and non-household WEEE was collected for recycling for the third quarter in 2013. Total collections for the first nine months of 2013 totaled 365,814 tonnes, equivalent to a 32.78% collection rate.

Guidance on New WEEE Regulations Issued by BIS

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) is preparing businesses for upcoming changes to the WEEE System and guidance on how these new regulations will apply and what businesses will need to do to meet their obligations. The new regulations are scheduled to be in effect on January 1, 2014.
