Professor Dame Anne Dowling has been nominated and selected as the first female President of the Royal Academy of Engineers. Following the formal election process, her five year term will start in September 2014.

The Second Annual Women in Manufacturing STEP Awards will be held on February 6, 2014 in Washington, D.C and will recognize 160 recipients who have had accomplishments in manufacturing.

New data released by the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) found that efforts to encourage students to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) degrees may be starting to work.
