Competition Announced to Reduce E-Waste

The U.S.-China Green Electronics Competition was announced earlier this week to raise awareness of the harmful effects on human and environmental health when e-waste is not properly handled and recycled.

Reports States Annual E-Waste to Surpass 93.5 Million Tons

A new research report from Marketsandmarket, Global E-Waste Management Market (2011-2016), has reported that global e-waste volume is expected to reach 93.5 million tons in 2016. This is an increase from 41.5 million tons in 2011 – a compound annual growth rate of 17.6%.

2013 WEEE Collection Rates Reaches 32% in the UK

Data released from the Environmental Agency reported a total of 125,183 tonnes of household and non-household WEEE was collected for recycling for the third quarter in 2013. Total collections for the first nine months of 2013 totaled 365,814 tonnes, equivalent to a 32.78% collection rate.
