The Society of Women Engineers is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Scott to director of fund development. In this expanded role, Scott will apply her experience to sourcing and nurturing relationships between the world’s premiere organization for women engineers and influential supporters around the world.
Scott joined SWE in 2009 as its fund development manager, taking on individual giving, foundation and government grants, and corporate partnership strategy and implementation. In her five years in this role, Scott has grown the Corporate Membership program, was a key organizer in SWE’s bilateral India symposium, managed SWE’s National Science Foundation grant and worked with corporate partners in their participation with SWE’s Annual Conference.
Scott will now take on the management of SWE’s Corporate Partnership Council in addition. The CPC is a consortium of more than 70 organizations that make significant financial contributions to SWE and further its mission of supporting women engineers by sharing best practices, addressing retention and advancement issues, and partnering on diversity initiatives.
Prior to joining SWE, Scott was an independent fundraising consultant for organizations such as Rock for Reading, DonorsChoose and Community Organizing and Family Issues. Her experience includes serving as the development manager at BuildOn, City Year and Reading in Motion. She has also worked as the volunteer coordinator of Horizons for Youth.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois State University, along with a certificate of nonprofit management from North Park University.
