Superconductor Stator Patent to Influence Future Military Efforts

Superconductor Stator Patent to Influence Future Military Efforts | In Compliance Magazine

Earlier this year, a patent was awarded to a group of scientists for an innovative technology that enables a magnetic flux compression generator to produce an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The technology was developed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Virginia.

Traditional magnetic flux compression generators produce a high voltage pulse output that works in conjunction with an EMP generator. This new patented technology was used to create a device that could produce a short duration, highly localized EMP that is controlled by the superconducting stator. These new smaller generators would provide higher power pulses with very fast rise times making them ideal for a variety of military and industrial applications.

Read more about the superconductor stator technology and the impact it will have on future military projects.
