Sunbeam Recalls Holmes Oil Filled Heaters Due to Scald Hazard

Holmes Heater Sunbeam Products, Inc. has issued a recall for their Holmes brand Oil-Filled Heater because it can spray heating oil, which poses a scald hazard. There have been approximately 40 reports of heaters that unexpectedly spray heated oil, resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves 34,000 Holmes brand oil-filled heaters that were sold at Target and small departments stores from August 2014 through November 2014 for $50. The heaters are black or white, with model number HOH3000 or HOH3000B printed on a label on the bottom. The Holmes logo is near the power switch and temperature control. Sunbeam advises consumers to immediately unplug the heaters and contact them for a full refund.

See the official notice for full product details to find out if your heater has been recalled.
