Starcraft RV Recalls Travel Trailers for Two Electrical Issues

Starcraft RV Autumn RidgeStarcraft RV is recalling 985 travel trailers because their circuit breakers may have been mislabeled. During inspection on the production line, it was discovered that the breakers in a breaker box were mislabeled or they didn’t have a label at all. With an incorrectly labeled circuit breaker box, someone may turn off the wrong breaker to work on the electrical system and receive an electrical shock. The recall includes certain model year 2015-2016 Launch, Launch Ultra, AR-One, AR-One Maxx, Autumn Ridge, and Travel Star travel. Starcraft will notify owners, and will send owners a corrected circuit breaker box label, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.

In a separate recall, Starcraft is also recalling 36 model year 2016 Autumn Ridge trailers, model 339BHTS trailers because of a fire hazard. The trailer’s liquid propane (LP) lines and wires, which are routed under the trailer, might not be adequately protected from road debris. Road debris may damage the LP lines and electrical wires, increasing the risk of a propane leak and an electrical short, which could start a fire. The NHTSA defect notice report states, “This model was manufactured with a shield in place but decision was made to add an additional shield to box in the lines and wires to beef up the protection.”
