Speed Test App for iPhone Released by FCC

iPhone

The Federal Communications Commission has released a new app for iOs devices in the iTunes App store as part of the Measuring Broadband America program. The program is a private-public partnership to bring transparency and competition to the broadband service marketplace.

The first public version of the FCC Speed Test app was released in November 2013 for Android devices. After downloading and installing the app, consumers can manually test their cellular and Wi-Fi network to receive an on-demand assessment of upload/download speed, latency and packet loss. Personal or unique identifiable information is not collected.
