Society of Women Engineers Bestows Annual Awards at WE13

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has announced the recipients of the 2013 Society of Women Engineers Awards. Presented at WE13, SWE’s annual conference, spotlights the success of many of its members and honors its best and brightest for their dedication to the society’s mission and their life-changing achievements.

The Society’s highest honor, the 2013 Achievement Award, recognizes a woman at the pinnacle of her career who has made an outstanding contribution to her field. This year it was awarded to Eve Sprunt, PhD, advisor, geological research and development at Chevron Corporation. Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Sprunt has championed the mission of SWE to provide a place and a voice for women in engineering. She is at the forefront of alternative energy, identifying promising alternative transportation fuels. Dr. Sprunt holds 23 patents and has authored 28 technical articles, edited two books and written more than 120 editorials for petroleum industry publications.
