RKE Key Fob Pouches Protect Remote Keyless Entry Keyfobs From Activation

Key FobSaelig Company, Inc. has introduced RKE Key Fob pouches, made from silver/copper/nickel conductive fabric to prevent unintended access to automobile RFID keyfobs.  These metal-coated rip stop nylon material pouches are highly secure and very durable, fitting easily into existing pockets, purses, and auto dealer’s key storage boxes. They effectively prevent thieves from activating proximity key fobs, unlocking a car without permission.

Automobile dealers have effectively used key storage boxes hung from windows or posts to simplify key management and ease access for test drives, but the advent of Remote Keyless Entry Systems with proximity key fobs have compromised their use. This compromise is eliminated with RKE Key Fob Pouches, which are simple-to-use, flexible enclosures that slip easily into key storage boxes and work with most manufacturers’ remote entry key fobs in varying sizes and shapes.  Auto dealers who have invested in these key storage boxes can now continue to effectively use their key management system.  They can also be used as personal security devices to prevent keyfob RFID transmission.

Remote keyless entry is standard on most new cars. These remote keyless-entry systems use encrypted radio waves specific to a manufacturer.  When a vehicle’s key fob is within 20 feet of the car, it can transmit a signal to unlock the doors, open the trunk, or remotely start a car (when equipped). But these encrypted signals are easy for someone to intercept and track, allowing a thief to unlock the doors and, if the vehicle has push-button start, even drive the vehicle away.  RKE Key Fob Pouches totally eliminate this problem.

Mastering High Voltage: The Importance of Accurate Test Equipment

This whitepaper underscores that precise calibration of high-voltage test gear — especially when measuring 1 kV–150 kV systems — is essential for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. It details measurement techniques (voltage dividers, step-down transformers, etc.), the impact of environmental and connection factors on accuracy, and why traceable calibration (e.g. to NIST / A2LA) is a must to ensure consistent, reliable results.

RKE Key Fob Pouches can be customized and labeled with dealer’s names and logos and given to customers to enhance proximity key fob security.  Hook-and-loop fastening is used to close the pouches securely, and they are available in two standard-size versions: 7066 (2 5/8″ x 4″) and 7070 (3 ¼” x 4 ¼”).

These high-attenuation enclosures are made for Saelig Company Inc. by Select Fabricators, Inc. – a premier US manufacturer of RF portable, collapsible fabric shielding solutions including signal reduction enclosures, pouches and curtains.
