Renee Michalkiewicz Promoted to General Manager of Trace Laboratories – Baltimore

Trace Laboratories, Baltimore has announced the promotion of Renee Michalkiewicz to the position of General Manager.
 
Renee earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology and a Master’s Degree in Administration.  Prior to joining Trace-Baltimore in 1995, she worked for ten years in the medical field as a Medical Technologist and college instructor.  Renee began at Trace as the Quality Manager and moved up to Laboratory Director, a position she has held for the past ten years.  In her position as Laboratory Director she has assisted the General Manager in overseeing the operation of the laboratory.  Additionally, she has managed all military and commercial printed circuit board qualification and conformance testing and training, as well as product qualification and testing in the areas of soldering pastes, soldering fluxes, solder masks, and conformal coating.  She also managed process validation / materials analysis through SIR (Surface Insulation Resistance), ECM (Electrochemical Migration) and CAF (Conductive Anodic Filament) Testing (I.e. Temperature/Humidity/Bias).    
 
Renee is known as a leader in the electronics industry through her participation in IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) and the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA).  She is the chairman of the IPC Testing and the IPC-J-STD-004 Flux Specification Committees and the Vice Chairman of the Assembly and Joining Committee.  She is an active member in IPC’s Technical Activities Executive Committee (TAEC) which votes on policy for the electronics industry.  Since her start at Trace fifteen years ago, she has published more than a dozen papers and presented at numerous electronics conferences.  Please join us in congratulating Renee on her promotion.
