Recall Issued for Dynamite 40-Amp FWD REV Brushed ESC in Various Remote ECX Controlled Vehicles

CircuitT1A joint recall has been issued from Horizon Hobby, Health Canada, and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (U.S. CPSC). The product recall pertains to the Dynamite 40-Amp FWD REV Brushed Electronic Speed Control in various ECX remote controlled vehicles. The vehicle’s electronic speed control (ESC) can fail and short circuit, posing a fire hazard.

The recalled Dynamite 40-Amp FWD REV Brushed ESC – DYNS2201, the controllers are installed in the ECX 1/10 LiPo Circuit, Ruckus and Torment models of the following remote-controlled vehicles: ECX03130T1, ECX03130T2, ECX03131T1, ECX03131T2, ECX03133T1, ECX03133T2, ECX03154.The ESC measures 5 centimeters length by 3 3/4 centimeters width.  The model numbers can be found on the product box or in the owner’s manual for each vehicle. The model vehicles measure about 18 inches in length and 12 inches in width and are hobby grade remote control models for ages 14 and up.

The company has received 3 reports of ESCs that caught fire in Canada, and in the United States Horizon Hobby has received 19 reports of the ESC in the model truck and cars catching fire.

Consumers should immediately stop using the remote controlled vehicles and contact Horizon Hobby for repair or refund.
