Recall Expanded of Legrand Wiremold Under-Cabinet Power Strips

A recall from September 2012 has been expanded to include an additional 46,000 under-cabinet power strips made by Legrand Wiremold. Internal electrical connections in the power strips are substandard and can overheat, posing an electrical fire hazard.

The recall includes Wiremold and Plugmold models with part number PX1001 that feature four outlets and one fluorescent light. The “Wiremold-Series Part PX1001” were sold from January 2011 to June 2012 and “Plugmold Power Light” models were sold from July 2012 until April 2014. Consumers with recalled power strips should immediately unplug and no longer use them. The recalled strips can be returned to the manufacturer for a full refund.

Check to see if your under-cabinet power strip is included in the recall and how to return your recalled power strip to Legrand Wiremold.
