Potential U.S. Government Shutdown Will Effect FCC Systems

The US Congress is currently debating the appropriations bill to fund the continuing operation of the US Government for the 2014 fiscal year which begins on October 1, 2014. If there is a government shutdown, access to all the FCC systems including the Equipment Authorization System will be completely suspended and be unavailable immediately after a government shutdown is announced.

Telecommunications Certification Bodies (TCBs) will not be able to upload equipment authorization applications or issue certification grants.  Additional, the KDB system will also not be available for processing any Permit-But-Ask (PBA) inquiries.
