Police Use Dogs to Search for Computer Hard Drives

Police in Connecticut and Rhode Island are using trained dogs to sniff out computer memory devices when searching for child pornography. The dogs are trained to detect the scent of flash and hard drives that can store illegal images and devices.

A 2 year old Labrador, named Thoreau, was used in a police search and found a thumb drive that was hidden deep inside a metal cabinet. These trained dogs are especially useful in these types of searches as devices have been found hidden in various locations from ceiling tiles to radios.
