Pendulum Instruments has introduced the PFA-127 Power and Frequency Analyzer, built on its award-winning multi-channel CNT-100 frequency analyzer series. The instrument performs parallel, gap-free measurements of power, frequency, pulse width, and pulse repetition interval (PRI) in a single box, and keeps the CNT-100’s simultaneous frequency measurement on both RF and 400 MHz baseband channels.
The RF channel adds CW power, modulation, and pulsed power measurements over a standard 15 GHz range, expandable to 20 or 27 GHz through a field-installed software license. Power measurements span -30 to +30 dBm with 0.01 dB resolution and a one-microsecond gate time, capturing RF pulses as short as 100 ns and saving them to internal memory at 20M values per second.
The PFA-127 targets high-speed radar, microwave components, wireless telecom, and general R&D work, from production lines and benchtop testing to performance verification of fielded equipment. Pendulum CEO Harald Kruger says the analyzer “affordably replaces a Microwave frequency counter and a Peak power meter up to 27 GHz in the same box.”
