Pearson Wide Band Current Probes are used for accurate and precise measurements of EMI, surge, lightning, pulse and other complex current wave shapes. The model 3525 has a 6 decade flat transfer impedance, 10 Hz to 10 MHz, for EMI measurements. Other probes measure current as low as 10 micro amps (20 dBµA) and frequencies as high as 400 MHz. Lightning and surge currents with amplitudes up to 500 kilo amps can be viewed with low sensitivity designs. A typical measurement is an 8×20 or 10×350 microsecond pulse. The Pearson model 4160, with its 50 kAmp peak current rating and fast rise time, is another excellent choice for the lightning susceptibility tests required in RTCA/DO160.
