Olympus Digital Audio Recorders Recalled | In Compliance Magazine

After receiving three reports of digital audio recorders overheating, Olympus Imaging America Inc. has issued a recall of approximately 500 model DS-5500 recorders. The recorders can overheat when being charged and pose a burn hazard.

The recorders are black and 4.5 inches tall by 1.9 inches wide by .67 inches thick with a 1.7 inch LCD display on the front. Consumers with recalled recorders should immediately stop using them and contact Olympus for a full refund, repair or replacement recorder.
