Nissan Recalling Vechicles Due to Fire Hazard

Nissan of North America, Inc. is recalling about 120,000 vehicles, including 2016-2017 Maximas, 2015-2017 Muranos, and 2015-2016 Murano Hybrids. The affected vehicles have Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) actuator pumps that may allow brake fluid to leak onto an internal electrical circuit board, posing a potential electric short which could result in a fire.

Though no schedule has been set, nissan plans to notify owners, who should then proceed to a dealer who will inspect the ABS Actuator. Repairs, if necessary, will be performed free of charge.

Consumers should note that if the leak has occurred, the ABS warning lam may remain illuminated for longer than normal. Owners are advised, in this case, to not drive the vehicle, but to park the vehicle away from other vehicles and structures.
