Newly Released IEC 62501 Consolidated Amendment for Voltage Sourced Converter Valves

Untitled-1

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has released IEC 62501:2009+A1:2014+A2:2017 CSV.  This consolidated version of the standard and amendments applies to voltage sourced converter (VSC) valves for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission – Electrical testing, and is now available on the IEC webstore.

Description: “IEC 62501:2009+A1:2014+A2:2017 applies to self-commutated converter valves, for use in a three-phase bridge voltage sourced converter (VSC) for high voltage d.c.power transmission or as part of a back-to-back link. It is restricted to electrical type and production tests.”

Antenna Factor and Gain Calculations

Antenna Factor and Gain metrics provide crucial insights into antenna performance, allowing engineers to calculate signal strength relationships and directional effectiveness. These measurements help optimize RF systems by comparing actual antenna behavior to theoretical isotropic radiators using standardized 50-ohm configurations.
