A new wireless charging technology, developed by the team at Freescale, will allow for rapid recharging of tablets, handheld medical devices, and other larger devices. The quick charging technology is capable of charging devices three times faster than standard 5W charging units.
The device is a 15W Qi-compliance wireless charging solution and provides efficient charging for large devices with high capacity batteries and smaller devices by delivering higher power. This new solution consists of two receiver chips and a transmitter chip, and additionally supports industry standards including the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and the Power Matters Alliance (PMA).
