New Recall Search Database Released by NHTSA

A new tool has been released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to allow consumers to search for recalls on vehicles. The searchable tool uses the vehicle identification number (VIN) to see what recalls have been issued for a specific vehicle the last 15 years.

The tool also shows the recalls that have been fulfilled on each vehicle and which ones are outstanding. The database has been in development since last August and was released to the public on August 20, 2014. All automobile makes and models will be included in the searchable database.

Check to see if there are any outstanding recalls on your vehicle.
