New EMC Double Ridge Horn Antenna from ETS-Lindgren Sweeps from 10 – 40 GHz

ETS-Lindgren has announced the newest member of its family of double ridged waveguide horn antennas. Model 3116C sweeps from 10 to 40 GHz without stopping for band breaks, making it ideal for automated testing. The antenna accepts up to 20 watts of continuous input power and exhibits high gain and low VSWR.

This antenna corrects the beam splitting commonly found in ridged waveguide antenna and now extends the lower frequency down to 10 GHz. Model 3116C provides users uniform illumination of target surfaces and accurate gain measurement.
This antenna is available for immediate delivery as part of the “Antennas-2-Go” program.

Near and Far Field Measurements with a Vector Network Analyzer

For optimal performance in over-the-air RF systems, antennas must meet specific requirements. Performance parameters like size, wind-loading, environmental ruggedness, transmission pattern, bandwidth, and power handling capability should be considered. Methods of measuring the transmission (or reception) pattern that determines antenna gain with a VNA will be examined in this article.
