New Edition of CISPR 16-1-1:2015 Standard for Measurement of Radio Disturbance

student-849821_640The International Electrotechnical Commission has released the fourth edition of CISPR 16-1-1:2015 standard. This applies to “Specification for radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus and methods – Part 1-1: Radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus – Measuring apparatus.” The standard is available for purchase on the IEC webstore.

Description*

CISPR 16-1-1:2015 is available as CISPR 16-1-1:2015 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.

Antenna Factor and Gain Calculations

Antenna Factor and Gain metrics provide crucial insights into antenna performance, allowing engineers to calculate signal strength relationships and directional effectiveness. These measurements help optimize RF systems by comparing actual antenna behavior to theoretical isotropic radiators using standardized 50-ohm configurations.

CISPR 16-1-1:2015 specifies the characteristics and performance of equipment for the measurement of radio disturbance in the frequency range 9 kHz to 18 GHz. In addition, requirements are provided for specialized equipment for discontinuous disturbance measurements. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2010, Amendment 1:2010 and Amendment 2:2014. This edition constitutes a technical revision.”
